It’s that time again when many of Center City’s finest restaurants offer you three special courses for just $35- September 14 - 19, 2008. Participating parking facilities offer diners discounted rates.
We have made reservations at three top restaurants and are looking forward to the dining experience.
But, here is something new, at least one restaurant, and I would like your opinion on it.
The restaurant xix also known as Nineteen is requiring parties of five or more to sign a contract!
Verbally I was informed the contract is to protect the restaurant during restaurant week from bogus reservations. Believe it or not thousands of folks try to make reservations during restaurant week. I know of one restaurant that already has 1400 reservation requests. In years past I remember being told I would be Number 179 on the waiting list.
So, it is understandable with such demand an establishment will attempt to make sure it’s dining rooms are filled. Evidently I will agree to honor my reservation but can give a 24 hour notice of cancellation. Should I just stiff the restaurant I will pay a cancellation fee.
I suspect I will also have to give them my credit card information, in order to make the contract, something I never do.
So far I have not received the contract, which is to be sent email. I will let you know the further details as they are available.
In the meantime, what do you think?
