We hate to wreck the ending for you here, but Joseph Slavin was knocked out of the WSOP while holding pocket aces.

He had set his opponent up in a previous hand when he raised aggressively after flopping a set and then claiming to have had bullets. Soon after that he really did get dealt aces.

With the blinds at $100/$200 he made a standard $600 raise before the flop. His opponent reraised to $2,000, he reraised again to $8,000 and his opponent, in accordance with Slavin’s plan, pushed all-in.

Slavin of course called and showed his aces while his opponent showed kings.

But as tends to happen in poker, the aces were cracked when a king came down on the flop. With no help on the Turn or River it was home time for Slavin.

Hopefully his shot at millions won’t be over and he’ll qualify online for the WSOP Europe.
