So I was propositioned to write something.

To blog, or not to blog? That is the question.

But what is there really to blog about? And what the hell is a blog for anyway? So I googled “blog” and hit “I feel lucky” and, well, whaddya know, the wikipedia website showed up.

It suddenly occurred to me that the human race has invented an entirely different language. It’s all portmanteau…two words thrown together, like brunch (breakfast and lunch) and spork (spoon and fork). Cool…this gives us the freedom to put together any two words and have it mean something new. Let me put a few out there… YouTube, Blogosphere, PhillySpeak, LonelyGirl15

People, do you realize that none of these words existed 5 years (OK, maybe 10) ago? Virtual unknowns, willing to put their every move, their entire existence, on the internet.

Damn, there’s a lot of crap out there…and, let’s be honest, it’s time we rode that wave.

Anyhow, here we are. And here you are reading this. And, well, we threw around a few ideas to blog about.

In no particular order:

  • How I’m feeling today
  • What I had for dinner/lunch/ (very rarely) breakfast
  • Where I went out last night
  • What I watch on TV
  • Who I hang out with (and don’t!)
  • Why you should keep reading this blog.

The last is the most important. I’m sure in the coming days and months we’ll all share a little joy in sharing our lives and experiences.

Till tomorrow…

P.S. The spellchecker picked up: blog, internet, website, youtube, blogosphere, phillyspeak, wikipedia, googled, and spork. Oh, and it picked up “spellchecker.” Apparently it’s “spell-checker.” However, it did offer sepulchre as an alternative. Blogtastic!…where are the dictionary salesmen when you need them?!
